[Hallicrafters] SX-101 Mark III

Well, dug into the SX-101 this weekend and found allot of caps that were
leaky. Replace them all and about half of the resistors. This was not a
problem but when it came time for an alignment, I started to scratch my head
a little as the osc section coils were not laid out as per the manual. I dug
out the manuals for the other SX-101s and they were also different. Do you
suppose that Hallicrafters had a hiccup and towards the end of the
production of the "MARK III" they did some swapping and rearranging on the
coils in the osc section? I did manage to muddle thru an alignment and it
works super good. No drift after about 5 to 10 minutes warm up and
everything works as it should. Has anyone ever run across this odd ball osc
section before?
regards,
Gary...WZ1M
