Hello Halligan's Hallicrafters Devotees,

William Halligan, Sr. was born in south Boston, MA on
December 8, 1898. I would like to hold a Special Event to
commemorate the 110th anniversary of his birthday as well let
the rest of the Ham world know that 'real' radios still go
glow in the dark!

Because December 8 falls on a Monday, I am proposing doing
the two day Special Event on Saturday December 6th from 10:00
AM EST, (1500 UTC), until 3:00 PM EST, (2000 UTC) on 7.280
MHZ lsb. Forty meters for those of you momentarily afflicted
by sag of eyelid and brain asleep - mouth on transmit with
frequent incoherent babbling.

The Sunday portion on 20 meters will operate from10:30 AM
EST, (1430 UTC) until5:30 PM EST, (2230 UTC). The frequency
will begin as 14.293 MHZ usb +/- for key clicks, mike
splatter and"CQ QSO Party - somebody!".

Since the Vintage SSB Net starts at 3:00 PM EST, (2000 UTC),
on the same frequency as we are using for the special Event,
I need to witch to an alternate frequency for the last 2.5
hours of the event. Since many of you are more familiar with
available frequencies on Sunday for 20M then I am, please
give me some suggestions guys. Thanks!

I would "like" to have two, or more of you, operate the
Special Event on AM and Cw also. We could do AM one day and
CW the other? I need willing volunteers to make this happen,
so please step up and make those finals glow with a smile.
Even if the rig doing it isn't a Hallicrafters!

I would like one of you with the talent and technology to
create a nice certificate for those who participate in this
Special Event to volunteer too! There will be a $1 charge to
cover the cost for postage and large envelope for the
certificate.

If enough of you believe it is needed, I will do a three hour
continuation of this Special Event on Monday December 8th
from 1:00 PM EST, (1800 UTC) until 4:00 PM EST, (2100 UTC).
Majority vote wins here!

Thank you very much for reading this. I hope that enough of
you care about a W9WZE Hallicrafters Happy Halligan Birthday
Special Event to help me make the magic happen!

Your thoughts gentlemen?
