Lots of Electrolysis rust removal info on the web. Start with
http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/rust/electrolytic_derusting.htm. I
haven't used this technique but I will be...and soon. Thanks for the idea.

I use electrolysis on tractor parts and tools all the time and it
works well. It will remove paint, rust and most anything else on the
part. It really gets into the nooks and crannies well.
Would be worth a try on a chassis.
