[Hallicrafters] halli "to" keyer

Ok Question time,

 I have a To keyer, in UGLY shape cosmetically, but it seems to be all 
there. Anyway, I bought one off of e pay,......it is in FINE shape, looks 
like it was drop shipped from the factory,
 However,........  the two of them,,,,,, are different......
yet the same............one is flush on the front, the other is 
recessed,about 1& 1/2 inches,  Electrically they appear to be the same ? and 
I have heard there is another model of this thing ? thats solid state 
????????
