I have successfully repaired several of those loading coils. This problem is quite common on the SR-150 if you work into high VSWR. Any way I use a high temp heat gun (looks like a heavy duty hair drier) working one plastic strut at a time. Slowly heat the deformed end and using an exacto knife work the coils apart and insert tooth picks to hold the coils apart. Work opposite sides first. Then when you get to the last two struts they some times "find" their own way home.
