[Hallicrafters] S-53?

As one who has been on eBay since 1998, I can say that there was a time when
a rusty S-38 with bullet holes would bring a hundred bucks, that time has
gone. Only the most pristine boat anchor equipment brings the big bucks now
days, so all those cute little sayings and terms such as "ePay" etc. are
just from uninformed folks who haven't looked recently.
In fact, as the poster stated, sometimes eBay prices are quite reasonable.
There are some really good deals to be had. (especially from sellers that
don't know what they have in their hands.) If you're looking for an older
but modern radio, they're virtually giving them away. I've seen a working
TS-440 with mike, power cord and original manual go for $125.00.
Also, guaranteed not DOA is NOT much of a recommendation either.
