[Hallicrafters] A question on tube socket pin-out

My references have failed me.  I am trying to make a 5-pin to 8-pin 
adapter so I can test a five pin tube on my Hickok tube tester.  I have 
both plug (8 pin) and socket (5 pin).  The 8 pin plug is numbered so I 
know which pin is 1, 2, etc. which I knew already anyway.  I need to 
connect pin 1 of the 5 pin socket to pin 1 of the 8 pin plug, 2 to 2, 3 
to 3, etc.
But which pin is pin 1 on the five pin socket?  One pin is separated 
from the other four pins - which pin is it?  Can someone point me to a 
reference which shows (My RCA RC-21 doesn't show which is pin one) 
identified pin layouts.
