Please join us on Sunday January 27th for the HHI 20 meter Net. Tune us in
live with a glow in the dark vacuum tube receiver or via the web radio link
on the HHI web site. You can find the Halligan's Hallicrafters International
web site at:

http://www.w9wze.net

The Pre-Net commences at 12:45 PM EST, (1745 UTC) and the Net proper begins
at 1:15 PM EST, (1815 UTC).

The frequency is still 14.293 MHZ usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and
an assortment of audio tones as excited vintage rig owners forget they are
on the Net's frequency while they are twisting those ancient plastic knobs
to load their TX! Who invented that notch filter anyhow?

Lately the band seems to abruptly shift faster than a slick tongued used car
salesman trying to peddle an Edsel as a sound investment! So if you can not
hear the NCS, just wait ten minutes and the ionosphere will belch changing
the EMF and MUF, polarity will reverse and you may actually hear the HHI
Net! So don't give up if you can only enjoy splatter, dead air or what
sounds like a Pig caught under the Porker's Play Pen exit gate! Things will
change!

Have any of you taken advantage of the very long daytime 20 meter DX paths
this past week? Such as the Madeira Island group from the Slokak Republic
on/about 14.260 MHZ at 1700-1900 UTC?

I hope to hear many of you tomorrow. So show up and keep me awake!
