Skip,
I don't have a SX-117 so I can't say what value of trimmer should be used.
Generally the round ceramic trimmers of the "Erie" type, there are other
manufacturers, are used for that application. For frequency determining
circuits, they should be the NPO or N750 temperature coefficient type.
