Hey Skip,
Just curious. Why are you putting this list together? Knowing you there is a
greater reason then just wondering how many were made, how many still exist,
who owns them etc.
I have never seen or heard one of these incredible pieces of equipment in
operation. There is either a text transcript story, or live audio dialogue
by either Chuck Dachis or Fritz Franke, on this rare dual diversity receiver
among the HHRP data. Seems like the man who designed it also designed a very
technical, and if memory serves - ahead of its time, receiver, maybe the
SX-23? Due to electronic problems caused by political complications, the ill
fated RX died before it ever had a chance to have a low voice.
Now that I am thinking about this, I think the same designer designed a very
successful item for Hallicrafters prior to the DD#1.
Thanks Skip! Now I will be up all night "looking" through my HHRP database
files in search of the "rest of the tale"!
