[Hallicrafters] Questions for OLD-timers (Hams)

I was trained to transport nuclear weapons (155mm arty shells} and
part of the training was how to destroy them to avoid capture by the
enemy by placing a shaped charge on the container. After the
explosion of the shaped charge we were supposed to return to the nuke
and make sure it was destroyed. In other words we were to commit
suicide. Plutonium is not only very radioactive but is also one of
the most poisonous substances known. One speck in the lungs and
you're a dead man.
Really nice to know the army is looking out for you.
