[Hallicrafters] SX 28 S Meter Question

Hi
Check  the 27K 2W resistor in the plate circuit of the S-meter  tube. 99% of 
the time those resistors are way out of tolerance and are a cause  of this 
problem.If that doesn't solve the problem check the S-meter pot which is  a 500 
ohms variable , those are also known to have problems like opens and  shorts
