Success!
It's not to difficult at all.
1. Place receiver on its side. Transformer down, left
side; knobs, dial right side.
2. Remove access panel on side panel. This will be on
top now.
3. Now Remove all screws holding side panel except the
ones in front and the two holding the Pointer Reset
mechanism. This will cause the deck to flex away a bit
giving more access the guts.
4. Unsolder the top of the first cap (where the
furthest back 6AG5 peanut tube is) where it attached
to the support for the trimmers are (C1 & C2).
5. Pull cap up and out, yes I know it's still attached
to the pin lug. Once it's out of way, unsolder it from
the lug.
6. Give yourself a hand. The hard scary part is over.
7. Put the new cap in. The process is the reverse of
the above.
8. Have yourself a Martini or wait until you finish
the other 2. There are actually 3 more, but the last
one isn't an issue.
Suggetions: Use the narrowest tip on the iron you
have. It's tight in there but doable. Make sure the
pin lug hole is open, I use a pick to make sure. Use
shrink tubing for the leads so you don't accidentally
get a short. You can do this in about half an hour.
Hope this helps.
