[Hallicrafters] OLD OR VINTAGE OR ANTIQUE

A S-38 series was junk when it was made and it still is today. I dont
understand the Ebay prices paid for some crap! I'll throw in the National
SW-54 as an even better example of junk from new.

Old and vintage are the same, vintage just sounds better when you want more
than an old junk price for it.

Antique means it will probably be expensive, it has no bearing on quality.
Im sure we all have our Hallicrafters examples. In autos it is over 25
years, compare an early 80's Chrysler K car against a 57 T Bird for example.

Classic in the auto sense means it has been accepted by the CCCA as having
outstanding quality, style, innovation, these WILL be expensive. A 1965
Mustang is NOT a classic! But a 56 Lincoln MK II is. Maybe we need a similar
organization for radios to establish a similar threshold.

In autos there is also a Special Interest catagergory. This would include a
95 Impala SS and a 87 Buick Grand National but not a 95 Caprice or a 87
Regal.
