[Hallicrafters] SM 40

I have acquired an SM40 signal strength meter for the S40, a unit I've 
wanted for
a while. It's a bit dirty, and will be getting a clean up and electrical 
inspection soon:

Am I correct in believing that I don't need to rewire anything inside
the S40, the meter simply plugs into the octal socket at the back,
which is already pre-wired for it?
