[Hallicrafters] glow

The dial lamps glow in my HQ-129X overwhelm the tubes as Im sure happens in
many old radios. The only tube glow is from the 6SN7, 6V6 and VR tube, all
the rest are metal. The 5U4 is cold with diodes wired in below deck.
OTOH, my HQ-140X low mileage virgin with mostly miniature tubes has a lot
more internal ambience but with decidedly more heat from the right rear.
I wonder if those who have gone with SS rectifiers can sell carbon credits
to that phoney greenie Al Gore?

good day group...
I have to admit that I still enjoy the glow and the heat of vacuum tubes...
I open the top cover of my HQ129X and look inside... its still like magic to
me.... WBCQ on a Sunday night with that old radio is becoming a ritual for
me...
