[Hallicrafters] Soild state vs Tubes

Little tubes glowing doesnt do it for me either. Heck most tubes used over 2 
decades are metal anyway and I cant get all hot and passionate over a 5Y3 or 
watch a 35Z5 short out. I must say that the magic eye tubes in my SX-9 and 
NC-101X are sort of cute.

If I want glow I'll look at a 4-1000A, 250TH, 304TL or something similar 
that really lights up with just the filaments. Put some serious power into 
them and watch those plates glow bright orange and give you a tan.
