Not better, just another option. But it costs $20 per radio and that adds up 
for many of us. With the zip cord reducer you can feed that into an outlet 
strip and plug in several radios. Ive done it that way for years. Just dont 
exceed the  ratings of the zip cord if you want a few on at a time. Coil it 
in a loose bundle so there is some air circulation.
