This thread rang a bell.
I bought a SR-400A and HA-20 VFO out of the Ham Trader Yellow Sheets 
(remember them?) about 1988.
When I received it, it was accompanied by extensive notes by Bob Orwin 
in La Grange Il..
He had to remove a CB mod from it and made many mods and improvements to it.
It has one of the best receivers I have ever had in any Hallicrafters I 
have ever owned and beats most others.
I was told, sometime in the 1990s, he had passed away. I am happy to 
hear he is still around;
or is he?
