[Hallicrafters] Question for HT-44 users.

The finals in this rig have very touchy neutralization at higher
frequencies. It took me forever to get mine stable on 10 meters. Once I
did, it was fine on all the other bands.

Subject: [Hallicrafters] Question for HT-44 users.

    I have a 40 m dipole up and have always had my HT-44 tuned to 40 m
where it tunes up with no problems. A friend about 20 miles away and I
were going to practice CW but only very weakly able to contact each
other on 40 m. He put up a tower with a Force 12 on the top so we
decided to try 15 m as my 40 m dipole should work on 15 m.
I can't seem to tune up on 15 m. The FINAL and DRIVER tuning jump
all over and the power out goes to over 100 w reading even with RF
level at zero.
I guess it sounds like oscillation problems. Any HT-44 users have
experience on 15 m and 40 m with their set and how they tune up?. Any
suggestions on what to look for or try would be welcome. Thanks.
