[Hallicrafters] HA-8 Splatter Guard

I have acquired an HA-8 minus the detector and interconnecting coaxial 'TEE'. It looks like a simple matter to build a detector but I have a question about the 'TEE'.

Is it just a simple UHF 'TEE' connector or is there some attenuation built in to the original 'TEE'?

If it is just a standard UHF TEE connector, it seems like full transmitter power will be applied to the detector. Could this damage the detector or the HA-8?
