Now it has this "problem". 

It's going to be hard to describe. It is like a steady pulsing
interruption to the signal, The interruption is very short (much shorter
than a "dit") and the rate is about 3-4 per second. 

I've heard the term "motor-boating" used before..........



I guess I'm the only one in the ham community that's never had this
problem before. I got tons of responses and the unanimous opinion was
that I have a bad capacitor. Most suggestions were a filter cap but some
went into detailed explanations of other cap possibilities.

What's weird is I refurbished this rig about 2 years ago replacing all
electrolytics, tiny chiefs and black beauties. Replacements were all
modern e-caps and orange drops. That still leaves a lot of ceramic disc
and silver micas to check and I suppose one of the replacements could
already have gone bad (though not likely). I'll tear into it this
weekend and let everyone know what I find.
