Here is another Hallicrafters in the movies sighting:

"Target Earth" (1954)
About half way through the movie, there is a scene
where some Army scientists are attempting to find the
"Achilles' Heel" of the alien robots which have landed
in a large city and are killing the people not
fortunate enough to have evacuated.  On a table behind
the scientists I saw an SX-42.  Nearby there was an
S-53 and what I believe to be a transmitter of unknown
model number, but appeared to be of similar size and
style to the S-53.

When I was a little kid, over 40 years ago, this was
the only movie to give me nightmares!
