[Hallicrafters] Dial stringing help

There's a tool out there that is very useful for dial stringing work. It's
called a spring hook. It's a piece of metal about a foot long. Usually made
out of steel. It looks like a metal rod but has a fork on one end and what
looks like a sheppard's staff half loop on the other. This tool is normally
used to get small springs back into place but also works well in the dial
stringing mode too. Another useful skill is knowing how to tie a slipless
knot and for Pete's sake, if the manual says cut the dial string to a
particular length, do it exactly as it says or reap the whirlwind. Small
pieces of tape and needle nose pliers are also very handy for this kind of
work.
The worst radio to dial string is the National NC 100 variant with the
frequency pointer that moves up or down when the band is changed. Absolutely
mind boggling.

The Group:
What a great great group, thank you. I received so many replies to my
request, that it would be difficult to reply to each one individually
so I will send a group thank you.
To those who attached the re-stringing diagram, they all came
through. To those who sent instructions on how to download DJVU, that
worked also. Now comes the need for tiny, deft fingers and patience!!!
Thanks again to all.
