Back on 16 January I explained the problem we were having with the HV
section of my friend's HT-33B. The HV was supposed to be 2700V but was, in
fact, 4200V!
We finally traced the problem down to a partial short to the case ( ground
) in swinging choke L3. This effectively changed the filter circuit from a
choke-input into a capacitor-input arrangement.
I'm happy to say that Ian has received a Peter Dahl replacement and
everything is now operating normally. Exactly 2700 VDC across filter
capacitor C25.
