I just fixed a problem on my SR-400A that I thought the group would be
interested in. All of a sudden last weekend my 6KD6 plate current
readings went totally out of wack. The meter still worked ok in the s
meter position so I knew the meter itself was ok.
I traced the problem to the current sensing resisters in the cathodes of
both of the finals. The resistance was supposed to measure 6.5 ohms to
gnd and it was around 140. Anyway, I replaced the resisters and now the
meter indicates reasonable plate current flow. When the resisters from
one final were cut out of the circuit, they were open.
It sure is a cool rig. I just got it about 3 weeks ago and I am really
jazzed about it. It would sure be neat to have the HA-20 VFO for it but
they sure go for a fortune.

Randy K6RCZ
