[Hallicrafters] Unusual SX-62

I rescued two SX-62's today, one had been sitting outside for quite a while  
and the other in a shed.  Both are basically parts radios.  Here's the  
unusual part.  One of them has a chrome plated cabinet and it looks to be  original. 
 Both the cabinet and lid are plated.  Has anyone  encountered one of these, 
or has some information on it?
