business. That was back in the days where I could take two cars full of new
equipment to the Flint, or Detroit swaps and come home with all pockets full
of cash. Every one paid cash.
There were a couple of the old rigs I wish I still had such as the KWS1/75A4
station that was mint (did a good job of heating the basement too).
A KWM-2, a 32S3B/75S3B/30L1/PS with phonepatch and SWR bridge. ..A mint
HT33B.
BTW, I had all those set up to operate at the same time, in addition to the
new stuff I was selling. 5 element KLM on 20, 6 element KLM on 15, (KLMs
had 42 foot booms) 7 element Wilson on 10 (39 foot boom), phased verticals
on 40, two slopers on 75 (Worked VR3S on 75 using the sloper and that HT33)
and a plain old droopy dipole on 160.
One evening I was working a station in Brazil. The next evening a friend
from Saginaw dropped by and the guy from Brazil was with him. He took home
a new rig!
I should put the pictures of that old station on my web site(think I will),
but I don't think I have any that show the HT-33B. I don't have any pictures
of the earlier stations.
I haven't had a station like that since 1980. Of course I didn't have a
tower back then like I have now either.
