It is easy compared to the SX 28. But the 110 is easier to
destroy some component parts during restoration, most
notably the IF transformers.
I have seen several 100s and 110s who have been repaired
because of the mica caps in the base of the transformers
shorting. The tie posts on those transformers are very
delicate and, many times, are broken when installing new
ones. The result is a flying tie joint or mica caps across
the transformer to make it resonate at 455 Kc. This problem
is has been evident in the 170 and 180 series I have seen.
The 28 is much more robust and one can even disassemble the
transformers for repair. Having done all three, the 28, 100
and 110, I will take the 28 any day even if it is more
complex.
