[Hallicrafters] Fw: S-20R Speaker

The speaker in this restoration project sounds "tinny" and I suspect the cone has had it.  I'd prefer to recone but it may be a bit costly.  I'm wondering if anyone has substituted a PM speaker and either replaced the field coil (ie filter choke) or eli minated the choke completely as in the S-40/40A/40B series which is basically a S-20R in a new cabinet.
