Be careful with the HT-37/HT-32 pwr xfmrs!
They are 'notorious' or 'infamous' for failures!
Lord only knows HOW many have given up the ghost.
Part of the reason for the 'black' around the pwr supply area is/was due
to it being entirely convection cooled. No air movement by ANY fan.
I've had a few HT-37s and an HT-32. So far I'm still knocking on wood.
Wish I never let my last HT-37 go to a High School about 20 yrs ago! I
donated the HT-37/SX-101A pair. They are GREAT radios. The phasing
system for some reason, REALLY made them a fantastic AM rig. That's
what I started out in AM in 1981.
