Dremel would be best way, second choice approach would be hammer and small 
sharp chisel to cut crimp off from the inside.

If you are removing it from a junker, just grind off the rivits on the  
INSIDE of the chassis. No damage to the serial plate. I removed the one off 
my  
junker SX-28 and sent it to someone. I used a Dremel tool which worked fine.
