Thank you to all that offered help with this transmitter. Your collective
advice gave me ideas to work with. I decided to get as basic as possible
and eliminate anything between the Transmitter and the Wattmeter (cable,
external antenna relay, etc.) and just ran the transmitter directly to the
wattmeter with 1 RG8U cable. Happily the transmitter put out proper power
levels on all bands and all modes. The problem is somewhere in the feed
line or external relay. I'll get down to the bottom of this over the weekend
barring any interruptions. I will also use deoxit on the band switch and rf
level and other accessible rheostats as in the time I have owned it this has
not been done. I was hoping it wasn't the transmitter as it has been very
reliable in the past and is fun to use.

This transmitter is housed in a larger hallicrafters cabinet than you
usually see these transmitters in. This case provides more ventilation than
the original. I'm not sure if that was done intentionally by Hallicrafters
or someone before me moved it into this case but it is a great fit and has a
nice hinged top for easy access to make adjustments such as vox delay or
antivox and anything else you can do from the top. It also has the push to
talk mod which works real nice with the D-104.

I hope to get this back on the air soon. Thanks again for your help,

Paul Adolph (N3FTL)
