[Hallicrafters] SX-42, an Update

Some progress! But first a confession:

The RF alignment works better when you have the band spread tuning set
correctly (not influencing the LO). This was a major headslap moment,
a mix of "yea!" and "I am an idiot".

With that item fixed, as well as a few resistors in the LO circuit, I
proceeded to try to align the BC band. I have been having trouble
trying to align using my injected signal at the antenna connector so,
instead, I just used broadcast stations of know frequencies. Actual
success! The BC band is now alive and well as well as the highest
(FM) band.

I will have to work on the other four bands using my signal generator.

My plan is to use my digital HF receiver to set the LO and then,
hopefully, use the signal generator to set the RF stages.

If I can get those bands aligned I will re-adjust the crystal filter
ala Rodger's suggestions and, perhaps, get this thing back into it's
cabinet.
