[Hallicrafters] SX-101 upgrades?

I have just been given an SX-101.  It is apparently the first iteration 
(not mk1, mk2, etc.) and has 160 meters, 11 meters, and 10 meters and no 
product detector.  I've got a manual from BAMA and I'm aware of the 
recent Electric Radio Magazine series on the SX-101A, but does anyone 
have a list of mods for the 101 that will make it more like the 101A: 
product detector, improved frequency stability, etc.?  The plastic part 
of the main tuning knob on this one is not chipped, which I understand 
is unusual.
