To All-

I too am a proud owner of a Hallicrafters S-76
receiver. I have not yet had time to restore it to at
least near original condition. It supposedly works and
I got it as a package deal several years ago at a
Hamfest in Albuquerque. It came with the instruction
manual and was modified to work with a Central
Electronics Sideband Slicer (also included in the
package deal and working for $60.00 cash total!). I
have been in touch with the seller as he still
acknowledges owing me the CE Sideband Slicer. A
relative is storing allot of furniture, etc, in his
garage where he cannot get to it right now.

My S-76 needs an original bandspread knob as the
seller replaced it with a vernier low gear ratio
tuning knob. Check this model's listing on:

http://www.dxing.com/rx/s76.htm

It has a five out of five rating on their site. It
maybe a very sought after model number in
Hallicrafters from the early 1950's. Anyway it is
definitely a keeper.
