Great ideas folks: keep 'em coming.

Yes, it was exactly "as described".

I liked the handles at the sides of the front panel: a nice touch. Also 
there are
numerous other holes here and there, some plugged.

Interestingly, although the knobs are not original S-76 knobs (which 
have the metal skirt),
they are Hallicrafters ... like those on the S40 etc.. Now, why would 
you replace
the original knobs with inferior knobs from a different set?

At some time a three-wire mains cord has been put on, but at the end the 
earth pin on the wall
plug has been sawed off!
