[Hallicrafters] good neutralization method

Hi Folks,
A while back I posted here saying I was having a difficult
time neutralizing the finals in my HT-44. Received lots of help
and suggestions from the folks here. It turned out that the problem
was the neut cap was badly mistuned. The best method to tune
it was found in the 1964 ARRL handbook, and here's what
it said to do;
Disconnect plate and screen power from the finals. Use a
loosely coupled coil near the 'low' (RF wise) end of the tank
coil. Fire up the transmitter, peak the drive, then tune the
neut cap for a minimum voltage on an oscilloscope (connected
to the loosely coupled coil). I had tuned the output circuit
to resonance using a grid dip meter, but not sure if that
was critical.
This method worked perfectly, and required NO additional
tuning. The key seems to be that the finals were in place
and the filaments lit, so the inter electrode capacitance
was in play.
