Many thanks to those on the group who responded to my request for help fixing this old S85. I was getting weak audio and a non functioning detector circuit. It turned out that C57 was the culprit - this is a .001 mica cap from the audio pot to the grid of 1st audio 6SC7. The cap looked normal on the outside, but when I disconnected the lead from the tube - the lead coming from the body of the cap fell right off - so it had gone open. Hoping my experience will help the next guy - Thankyou.
