I'm reminded of Freeman Lang (unfortunately I don't recall his call). 
He was a yacht broker, lived in his office in the Waikiki yacht harbor 
about 35 years ago.

Freeman sold boats and handled repairs during the day but in the 
afternoon, he fired up his KW to a 3 element polarized diversity yagi 
and worked RTTY on 20.
