The Mallory Vibrator databook, published in 1947,  indicates that 
Mallory made six different series of vibrators that operated at 115 
cps  and one series that operated at 250cps.  Self-rectifying types 
were available at both frequencies.  The  text indicates that the 
250cps series was the result of the military's desire for a lighter 
smaller power supply and that further increases in frequency did not 
result in appreciable benefits.
