Go to the Harbor freight website and sign up for email coupons.  They're 
usually a bit better than the prices in their flyers.  Just print out the 
coupon (B&W is OK) and take it to the Harbor Freight store.

I've had the same results on old catalogs too.  They'll honor the lowest 
advertised price in a flyer that's still in effect.  You have to save the 
last few flyers you get because one flyer will have an item at one price and 
the others will have it listed at a higher price.  It's a bit of a hassle in 
the check-out line, but sometimes it's worth it.

I also agree, some of their stuff is junk, but so far I've been very 
satisfied with the value.
