Hello everyone,

 

I have a Viking II I am currently restoring/modifying for use on AM and
CW. The outboard Johnson VFO is pretty pricey and I already have the
HT-18 (also needs restoration) that I'm considering using instead. I
have several questions for anyone who may have experience with the
HT-18:

 

1.	How stable is this VFO? Is it at least as good as the Johnson
unit?
2.	Has anyone ever used it in combination with the Viking II? Any
problems?
3.	Anyone know where I can get a decent copy of the manual?
4.	Any known problems/weaknesses with this unit and associated
mods/fixes I should know about?

 

I don't plan on using the NBFM function.
