Please join us on Sunday October 22nd for the Halligan's Hallicrafters 20
meter Net.

If you were not among the lucky Hams who found out that 7.280 MHZ lsb was
wide open today, wake up and join us next Saturday! We had an absolute
blast! It was like three years ago when hearing somebody within the same
state you are in was normal! Even more surprising, today the forty meter
band did not do its usual sudden skip point change, it remained rock solid
from 12:28 PM EDT when I logged on until 2:30 PM EDT when I went QRT.
Fantastic fun!

I will be on the air at 12:30 PM EDT on Sunday getting the Gerbils up to
speed on their little treadmill with the big gear box that drives the
generator that powers the HF amplifier. Depending on how ambitious those
little critters are on a given Sunday, I sometimes have to give them a
little kick in the apogee by adding some sugar water enhanced with two of
those long haul trucker anti-sleep aids, vitamin C enriched caffeine tablets
soaked in Deer cabin morning black coffee to their water bottle. This stuff
is guaranteed to jump start anything dead, Iron or Carbon based, provided it
has not returned to rust or dust! Let me tell you, it stimulates the kidneys
and when the Gerbil's eyes turn a certain shade of yellow, hit the emergency
stop button, trip the halt ooga ooga horn and switch on the battery back up
power. They jump out of their running harness, sprint to the designated
Gerbil porcelin piddle puddle porta pot and hum a happy tune!

The pre-Net commences at 12:45 PM EDT, (1645 UTC) and the Net proper begins
at 1:15 PM EDT, (1715 UTC).

The frequency will be 14.293 MHZ usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and
the sound in the background of the Chipmunks rendition of "Happy Birthday
Blind Dude!". It never charted on Billboard, so author/artist David Seville
let it go into the public domain about forty years back. It is being played
tomorrow because it is my sixtieth birthday and because I could not find my
original copy of "Happy Happy Birthday Baby" by the Tune Weavers!

I hope to hear many of you tomorrow, from states not heard from lately, so
be there and make your Halli hum along with all of us!
