I don't have an HA-6 but have had an HA-2 (2-meter
version) for over 30 years.  It works great!

The built-in "attenuator" (actually a 50 ohm load)
allows the use of transmitters that put out up to 100
watts to be used without any problems.  There is also
a jack for up to 25 watts input that bypasses the
load.
