[Hallicrafters] SX-115 on Ebay?

Sometimes I wonder about the wisdom of investment in ham gear. Case in
point: In 1978 I purchased a Collins 75S-3 receiver and 312B-4
speaker/wattmeter. I paid almost $700 for the pair. Although they were and
are still in excellent condition, that is about all I could expect to get
out of them today. I realize the 75S-3 is probably the least desirable of
the 75S- series of receivers. Although I believe there is some agreement
among Collins collectors that the 75S-3 and 75S-3A were slightly better
performers than the later -3B/-3C, they just don't have the cachet of the
later models. My point being, I spent 1978 dollars and if sold would bring
2006 dollars, not a wise investment. However, I bought it to use not for
price appreciation.
