A military signal generator that is often overlooked
is the TS-497 series.  This is nothing more than a
beefed up Measurements Model 80.  The design covers 2
MHz to 400 MHz but there is usually enough "slop" to
cover the 160 meter band.

They use the same 6 dB external pad as the URM-25
series for matching to 50 ohms.  The calibrated
attenuator is accurate.

I have several service monitors but have had a TS-497B
for almost 40 years.  I still use it especially when I
really need a high level output.
