Anybody have any money left over after Dayton? Need a project? Have I got a
deal for you!!!

I have a SX-117 in good/vy good physical condition (7.5 to 8 on a 10 scale)
that is surplus to my needs. The Halli "H" is missing from between the
meters on the front panel otherwise it is complete physically. This receiver
has a couple of "quirks".

1. In doing an alignment, I found that I could align the IF strip up to the
1650 kc (first IF). I cannot get a signal through the receiver at that
point. The 2nd and 3rd IFs align just fine and AF amp works just fine. At
best a bad coupling cap or worst case a bad IF transformer.

2. The VFO drops out after several hundred kc. This appearrs to be an
alignment problem, or possibly a shorted capacitor plate on the main tuning
cap. In any case, I hadn't had time to troubleshoot the problem that far.

The knobs are all original and in good condx. This would make a great
restoral, or, if you need parts for another SX-117, this would make a great
parts radio.

Since I have a working SX-117/HT-44 station, I really don't need this
receiver and I want to see it go to someone who can use it or take the time
to part it out.

Either way I have to off load it since I am rapidly running out of room
(thanks to the ton of MilCom gear I just acquired) and my XYL, Patricia,
would like to be able to walk through the basement without stumbling over or
crawling over boatanchor radio gear! (Although she is licensed, KB3MCT, she
lacks a certain eithusiam and sense of adventure when it comes to big, heavy
radio gear).

I do have a copy of the manual for the SX-117 along with the schematic.

I'm asking $125 plus shipping. I will pack this myself (never lost a radio
yet in 40 years of hoss tradin') and the buyer will pay only the FedEx
shipping charges from Zip 18702. If anyone is interested PLEASE contact me
OFF-LIST and we will cut a deal.
