Rob,
I think it is a great idea. One feature that would be great is if it is
possible to program in a sweep function. For example, sweep from 445 to
465 KHZ to align If transformers. The output could be looked at on a
scope and adjust for the nicest looking band pass. I have two
generators, both I really like. One is the trusty old Urm-25D and the
other is a HP 8640B
My concerns are phase noise, harmonics, leakage and accurate
calibration coming from a digital generator.
But, all is possible with some cleaver planning.
