[Hallicrafters] S-38DM, was "collecting"

Hi Duane,

I am not surprised that Chuck has stopped that practice. As I said
below, he must have a warehouse full of spare sets by now so I am sure
he doesn't need any more.

New subject, but still related to collecting. I saw an S-38DM (not
EM) up for auction and Chuck doesn't even mention that model in his
books. Does anyone know the history on the 38DM? It has a gold metal
face frame and the mahogany finished metal cabinet. I know they made
a 38EM and a 38EB, but I did not know about the S-38DM. BTW, a really
nice looking radio. Maybe Chuck can buy this one and put it in his
next book.

Jim,

This is no longer correct my friend. Chuck is only interested in very
scarce
or rare pieces of equipment. He has more than one of most items and is

experiencing a storage issue!

This is based on an e-mail from Chuck to me this week.
